Terms of Service
Last updated: June 28, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and ExcuseGPT (“ExcuseGPT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the ExcuseGPT mobile app and the website at tryexcusegpt.com (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use ExcuseGPT. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you can enter into a binding agreement.
2. What ExcuseGPT is
ExcuseGPT is an entertainment and novelty app. It generates AI excuses, AI text replies (“Reply mode”), and shareable novelty “evidence,” which is always clearly watermarked as not real. Outputs are produced by AI, may be inaccurate or fictional, and are provided for fun and personal use. You are solely responsible for how you choose to use anything the app generates.
3. License
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the App Store’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple Standard EULA”), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA conflict, these Terms control to the extent permitted.
4. Acceptable use
ExcuseGPT keeps things light and safe, and every result passes a content-safety check. You agree not to use the Service to:
- commit fraud or deceive anyone for financial, legal, medical, academic, or material gain;
- impersonate a real person, business, or authority, or forge documents intended to be taken as genuine;
- harass, defame, threaten, or harm others, or create hateful, sexual, or otherwise abusive content;
- break the law or anyone else’s rights; or
- reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with the Service, or bypass its rate limits or safety systems.
The “evidence” feature produces novelty content only and is watermarked accordingly — it’s a bit, not a scam.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the situations, screenshots, and other inputs you provide. You grant us a limited license to process them solely to operate the Service for you (for example, to generate and sync your results), as described in the Privacy Policy. You’re responsible for ensuring you have the right to share anything you submit, including screenshots that may contain other people’s messages.
6. Subscriptions & auto-renewal (ExcuseGPT Pro)
ExcuseGPT is free to start. ExcuseGPT Pro is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks unlimited generation, Reply mode, the Evidence pack, no watermarks, no ads, and more. Subscriptions may be offered on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis, sometimes with a free trial.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device.
- If you start a free trial, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- Prices may vary by region and are shown in the app before purchase.
Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.
7. Ads
The free version of ExcuseGPT is supported by advertising (Google AdMob). Pro subscribers don’t see ads. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising and tracking work and how to control them.
8. Intellectual property
The Service — including its name, branding, design, and software — is owned by ExcuseGPT and protected by law. You may share the content you generate (subject to these Terms), but you may not copy, resell, or build a competing product from the Service itself.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free — or that your boss, partner, professor, or friends will actually believe the excuses it generates. AI outputs may be wrong, odd, or fictional; use your judgment.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExcuseGPT and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any repercussions, loss of employment, broken relationships, missed opportunities, or other outcomes arising from your use of the Service or anything it generates. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold ExcuseGPT harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
12. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification) will survive termination.
13. Apple
These Terms are between you and ExcuseGPT, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or handle warranty claims for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give more prominent notice. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
